Swimmy by Leo Lionni

How would you feel if you were a tiny black fish and a big fish came along and swallowed up all the little red fish you swam around with? Swimmy was that tiny fish. He could swim faster than the other little fish so he got away, but he was lonely. In his loneliness he went out to explore the wondrous ocean. He saw so many beautiful and exciting creatures in the ocean. One day he found another school of fish like his own and joined them. He tried to get them to swim out in the ocean and see things but they were afraid. Read Swimmy to learn how he thinks of a great way for the little fish to work together and fool the big fish so they can explore the ocean together. The pictures are wonderful. You will enjoy looking at them as much as Swimmy enjoyed exploring the ocean. After you have read Swimmy please tell us how you liked the book.
