My name is Janice Green and I am a retired elementary school librarian. For the past 9 years I was the library media specialist at Battery Park Elementary School in Nesmith, SC. With the closing of Battery Park Elementary School and the larger, Chavis Elementary School in Hemingway, both schools are now enjoying their brand new school and media center at Hemingway Elementary School.
I chose to be a children’s librarian because I love to read children’s literature. And the best way I know to enjoy a children’s book is to read it out loud to some children.
I started this blog to write about my favorite Children’s books as I shared them with my students. I especially liked it when students wrote about their favorite books as well.
I have retired to try my hand at writing children’s books. I miss reading to my students very much. I hope someday I’ll be able to read some of my own books to them. Meanwhile I will post about some more of my favorite books from time to time.
